As the Montreal Camera Club activities are winding down and given the restrictions on group meetings which limits our ability to go on outings, we are proposing a series of 3 challenges for club members during the Summer months.
 
The challenges were chosen with some criteria in mind.

1. They can be done either outdoor or indoor (for those who cannot leave their home due to Covid19).
2. They have an educational purpose in mind: acquiring a new skill or improving an old skill.  Therefore, each challenge will include free online educational resources to help the members learn a technique and accomplish the challenge.
3. Up to three images can be submitted by a member for each challenge.
4. Each image will be judged by a small committee.  The judges will provide comments, but no score will be given.  The committee will choose the three best images of the challenge. 
5. Comments and suggestions for improving all the images will be presented online (usual Webex meeting).  The three winning images will be announced.  Members of the audience will then have a chance to ask questions or to make comments either to the judges or to those who accepted the challenge.

 
The three themes selected for the Summer are:

1. ICM (Intentional Camera Movement) Challenge
   Images Submission Deadline:  June 25, 2020
   Presentation Night : Monday, July 6, 2020
   
   
2. One Colour Only Challenge
   Images Submission Deadline:  July 16, 2020
   Presentation Night :  Monday, July 27, 2020
   
   
3. A Triptych Image Challenge
   Images Submission Deadline:  August 13, 2020
   Presentation Night : Monday, August 24, 2020 

 
As you can see, the Club is pursuing its desire to provide education to all members.  The first challenge will help you to improve your image capture technique and develop your creative side. The second challenge will help you to think in terms of colours, shapes and textures, and to focus on your composition.  The third challenge will have you think in terms of a collection of images and to learn ways for assembling them in a coherent manner. 
 
We hope many of you will accept these challenges and have fun doing them.  Details for each challenge will follow soon.
