OBITUARY: NADA MAYLA
April 29, 2020 Nada will be greatly missed at the Montreal Camera Club. She had such spirit and it was so great to have her around. She would sometimes stand up and cheer as we received our ribbons or awards. She would insist upon truly celebrating each and every holiday. She brought such life to the club and she was loved! It was also great to see how her photography improved over the time that we were blessed to have her as part of the club. Sending my deepest sympathies and love to Lilian her wonderful mother, and to her family and friends. (written by Ilana Block) Donations in memory of Nada Mayla will be going to the following memorial fund

OBITUARY: MORTIMER LEVY
October 29, 2019 It is with sadness that we announce the death of Mortimer Levy, a long-time member of the Montreal Camera Club on Tuesday, October 29, 2019. He was 91.
Morty was a member of the club for many years, up until only several years ago, and was a very pleasant presence at the club, with a great sense of humour, a wonderful disposition, and a keen eye. He had a great love for life, a love that he shared with everyone. Morty’s wife Pearl is an excellent and established sculptor, and a frequent participant in art exhibitions, in which Morty also sometimes participated with his photography. Morty’s other passion besides photography was sailing, where he and Pearl would often sail their sailboat around Lake Ontario and Lake Champlain, accompanied by other friends with their own sailboats. Morty also liked to compete in regattas. He leaves behind a large and loving family who will miss him dearly Donations: The “Pearl and Mortimer Levy Fund” c/o the Jewish General Hospital Foundation, (514) 340-8251.
