SUMMER CHALLENGES 2020 (non-competition)

CHALLENGE #2 - ONE COLOUR ONLY CHALLENGE

Images Submission Deadline: Thursday, July 16, 2020
Presentation Night: Monday, July 27, 2020 (MCC online meeting - 7:30 pm)

This challenge involves taking a single colour in camera image. Yes, you are going to shoot a monochromatic colour image in camera. Take pictures containing that colour and that colour only. Shades, tones and hues of your chosen colour are ok but nothing else. That’s it. Black and White images are not eligible here.

You cannot use a software program like Photoshop to convert a multiple colour image into a monochrome colour image (like it is described at the end of the first article listed below).
In the same spirit, do not use a software like Lightroom to change the hue or the colour of parts of the image. You can still play with the saturation or the vibrancy sliders but do not touch the hue slider.

You will probably find it easier to take a close-up or a macro image but it is also possible to find larger scales subjects that fit the bill. The art of a successful image will reside mostly in the composition of the scene and the texture of your subject. Also, pay attention to the light to avoid a flat image with little contrast. And don’t forget to have fun.

Part 1: Summer Challenge Number:

S1 => Intentional Camera Movement (due June 25, 2020)
S2 => One Colour Only (due July 2020)
S3 => Triptych (due August 2020)

Part 2: Member Number => Your 4-digit MCC number
Part 3: Image Title => Descriptive title for your image (please be careful with your spelling).

Sizing your images:

Use dimensions as required for competitions. A maximum width of 3840 pixels and a maximum height of 2160 pixels.
Please do not send images that are too small.
