A bit on Lamich’s story...
Born in the wine region of Buin, just south of the Chilean capital of Santiago, Victor Diaz Lamich saw his peaceful childhood abruptly interrupted by the coup d’État of 1973. His exile began. His family moved to Quebec, Victor became a Quebecer. But it is not until 1994, when he rediscovers his native land, "this new post-dictatorship Chile", when he reconnects with his origins and his culture, that he finally understands the singularity of his itinerary. From then on, traveling becomes his life. His work in environmental chemistry takes him throughout South America, focusing his efforts on major ecological issues. Everywhere a camera in hand, soon, photography becomes his sole passion. His professional career took off when he became the official photographer at renowned cultural magazine “Voir/Hour in Montréal”. He then developed collaborations with several magazines such as the Rolling Stone, the Canadian Press agency and the Huffington Post Quebec. He finally earned the prestigious title of “official photographer” at Montreal’s International Jazz Festival, Francofolies de Montréal and Montreal Highlights, to which he would have celebrated his 18th participation this year. Victor Diaz Lamich worked on the development of a large format photo exhibition, in collaboration with the ‘Nevados de Chillan’ hotel complex in the Andes mountain range (Winner of the Best Ski Resort in the World in 2017, 18, 19). He is now involved in the production of a series of artistic photographs printed on aluminum, which will be exhibited at the “Musée National de la Photographie Desjardins” in Drummondville. These works of art will be sold to profit the “Sainte-Croix/Heriot Foundation”. CONTACT INFORMATION:
