MATTING AND FRAMING
Most important is that you now decide what size frames you will use for your submissions and let us know your choice(s) ASAP, latest, June 1st, as we must give the McClure gallery a list of all the “artists” - names, image titles, date created, sizes and prices for each image for sale – (in that order) so that they may prepare wall labels and a gallery list.

Size options:
NOTE: (Centimeter sizes may vary slightly on different commercial sites). If you have any questions because you are using a custom sized frame which may differ slightly from the above choices, check with Ann at [email protected] Let us know if you need any other help.
Our curator, Victoria Leblanc strongly recommends that we use slim black frames for uniformity and space restrictions. She also recommends white mats to surround your image (although black mats will be accepted). This uniformity helps when hanging the exhibit. NO OTHER mat colours will be accepted. Mat and Frame must be clean with no indications of wear.
Framing with glass is recommended to protect your image but framed matted works with no glass, will also be accepted.
We recommend the photo frames available from Omer DeSerres and Michael’s which come with the necessary hanging wire on the back. Clips, triangular or Saw tooth hangers will not be accepted.
Note: Although IKEA has inexpensive frames, they do not come with hanging wires attached to the rear. As the frames are not solid wood, it is difficult to add wires without breaking the frame. A professional framer can do it, for a price. Members have used the IKEA RIBBA series
- Submit both images in 16x20 frames (41x51 cms) = standard size.
- Submit one image larger, 20x28 (50 x70 cms.) or 18x24 (46x61 cms) and your second image smaller
in a 12 x16 (30x41cms) or 11 x 14 (28x36cms) frame. - Submit both images in 12 x 16 frames (preferable) or both in 11x14 size.
