Join us for “An Evening With Ez” on Monday, January 27, 2020 for our special guest, Montreal-based documentary filmmaker and photographer Ezra Soiferman. He will intro a clip, show it, talk a bit about it and then move along to subsequent clips. Folks can ask questions throughout. He loves questions! A graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts in Film and TV production, Soiferman, or “Ez”, as he’s frequently known, has been photographing non-stop for over 25 years, simultaneous to his acclaimed film career which has seen his films appear on TV networks and film festivals around the world. From street photography to food photography to concert photography to cannabis photography - as well as many other subjects - Soiferman brings his camera and ever-curious eye wherever he ventures. He is primarily a storyteller, a journeyman and a people-person with photographs and films merely serving to tie it all together and help convey his often quirky and heartwarming stories in a fresh and colourful way. Recently, Soiferman served as the world’s first artist-in-residence at a cannabis company, namely Tweed/Canopy Growth, the world’s largest legal cannabis company. As part of the unlikely and unforgettable gig, he traveled to over a dozen cities worldwide, photographing countless photo series for display online and across the walls of the company’s offices across the globe. Ezra will share with us several of his short ‘music photeos’ (his brand of music videos comprised of photos) and discuss his training, career, equipment, sensibilities and inspired philosophy of photography.
