We are very excited to be hosting Denise Ippolito for our annual Bonnie Nichol Lecture. Denise is a dynamic speaker whose distinctive photographic style has yielded many awards including several with the Photographic Society of America. She is a full-time professional photographer, workshop leader, and artist living in New Jersey. Her images have been published in magazines and books, sold as greeting cards and calendars. Denise was recently featured in a Sierra Club Documentary film. One of her images was selected as the “Art in Nature” category winner in the prestigious Nature’s Best 2015 Windland Smith Rice International Awards Competition. In 2010 and 2014, Denise received the Highly Honoured Award in the same competition. Also in 2014, Denise had an image selected for a People’s Choice Awards Top 50 Images in the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition. ​

​Denise travels extensively, presenting slide lectures and seminars, teaching photography and how best to use Photoshop. During her “Thinking Outside of the Box” lecture, Denise will take us on a journey through her own lens, illustrating the creative development of her artistic vision—to challenge us with new ideas to awaken the artist within each of us. 

​“When I think about my life and how my art has been a guiding force in my life’s decisions, I realize how important it is and has been for me throughout the years. At times I can’t catch my breath when I get excited about a project because so much of me goes into each piece, whether it is a photo or a painting or, nowadays, a digital painting. It’s difficult and easy at the same time. I see beauty around me, and I am pulled in, all senses engaged, engrossed, absorbed, preoccupied. Sometimes a project just spills out of me and at other times it takes a lot of work to convey my thoughts clearly I won’t rest until it is right—until I believe that my viewers are with me in each image: feeling the air, smelling the flowers, walking in the soft sand,hearing the birds. I can’t stop until I have infused my projects with beauty and emotion and a little bit of me. But I can’t leave it there as I have a passion for teaching. This is also a part of my art, to guide others along a path to find their unique artistic vision. I love to share who I am and how I see the world. My goal is to provide a space where everyone can dream, create and achieve.

The Montreal Camera Club is offering full day workshops
with professional photographer, workshop leader, author and artist

The workshops will start with an early morning in the field with Denise, followed by a lunch break on your own where you will choose 3 of your photos for her to critique. Afternoon session will include critiques and Denise will be teaching
one of her post processing techniques and answering questions.
 
All workshop participants will receive her

Space is limited – advance registration for Club Members until September 2nd.
Open to non-members after that date.
 
All workshops and presentations will be given in English, rain or shine,
time and location may be subject to change due to weather conditions

They are non-refundable but you can find yourself a replacement if you need to.
