BIOGRAPHY:
Chris Forsyth is a photographer currently working towards a BFA in photography at Concordia University. He has been photographing actively for roughly four years. Chris began his serious pursuit of photography shooting urban landscapes and this grew into his love of architecture and design. During his first year studying photography at Dawson College, Chris discovered a personal fascination for metro architecture. This developed into an on-going photo series that has grown over several years. While it originally began as an appreciation of Montreal’s underground system, The Metro Project is a personal exploration of the art and architecture of metro stations around the world. Beginning with Montreal in 2014, the photo series now includes dozens of stations in cities including Munich, Berlin, and Stockholm. Underground transit systems are often as much a function of design as they are of utility. Each space communicates a unique atmosphere that is a product of its design, from Montreal’s Brutalist stations to Stockholm’s hand-painted bedrock caves. |
