Description of the Outing:
On July 14, 2018, Aéroports de Montréal (ADM) officially opened its brand new Jacques-de-Lesseps Park, a green space designed especially to provide aviation enthusiasts with one of the best possible vantage points of the runways of Montréal–the Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport. Leaders: Phillip Shapiro and Lyne Brissette Time: 3:30 p.m. Group Shot: 3:45 p.m. Dates: Sunday, October 25, 2020 (as rain is forecasted for October 24) Location/Directions:
Since the best spots are in industrial zones that aren’t serviced by mass transit, you’ll need a car to go planespotting. Suggestions on what to bring:
Clothing: Dress accordingly for the weather conditions. Covid-19: Please bring and wear a mask to keep this activity safe. Airport shoot suggestions:
Camera settings: (1) Manual mode with auto ISO
(2) Or Shutter speed priority
These settings are for freezing the aircraft. You can also try slower shutter speeds and pan ie. follow the plan as it moves the background would be a blur and the plan would be sharp. It takes practice but you can get great photos. Have the camera on continuous autofocus and shoot in burst mode White auto balance. Metering set to full-screen average Video https://youtu.be/mkKYf3tj120 App to hear the tower:
