Welcome Message from
the Nature Chair, Ilana Block
I would like to welcome you all to the 2017-2018 season of the
Montreal Camera Club Nature Division.
A couple of important changes were made to the line-up in the
Nature Division last season: we added a new category, Ornithology (Birds), and we removed the Action category to simplify matters. We feel that these changes allowed the other categories (Botany, General & Zoology) to gain more recognition.
There are four documents to read under Membership>Competitions>Nature Guidelines.
Important competition information has been updated this season. Please refer to the Nature Guidelines. A printout of a shorter Quick Reference Guide version of these guidelines will be available on opening night, September 11, 2017. The updated Nature Handbook (available
in printable pdf) is available online. Competitors must know how to size and label all entries. Kindly refer to How to Label Your Images. It is also important to read up on the awards and trophy guidelines if you wish to compete for an award.
MCC does not support baiting/feeding birds and will not accept any images of baited birds. Ornithology entries should be accompanied by an “unbaited” note. When out in the fields, continue to be super respectful of nature and all of its beautiful creatures.
Looking forward to seeing you in the field and at Club meetings! Enjoy!!!
Ilana Block, Nature Division Chair
