Dear returning members, new members, and prospective members,
I am very happy to report that after an absence of several years, the Montreal Camera Club is once again a member of the Canadian Association for Photographic Art, or CAPA. With this club membership, we will be entering our club in a variety of national competitions and thus, we will acquire a higher national profile.
Competitions will provide members with an opportunity to see how we rank in comparison with other Canadian photography clubs as well as link our members to other photographers across Canada. Other benefits will include accessing the publication Canadian Camera online and participating in the annual photography conference.
At this time, I highly suggest that you read carefully the rules and regulations of the CAPA competitions at capacanada.ca/capa-competitions/. As well as the MCC Nature, Pictorial, and Print guidelines, all these may be found on the MCC website.
I will be proud and happy to collaborate with our various division chairs to select our entries. These club competitions are open to both Class A and Class B members. You will be contacted should your image be selected.
For those people interested in obtaining an individual membership to CAPA, go to the website for details capacanada.ca/the-benefits-of-capa-individual-family-membership/. With an individual membership, you can enter individual competitions and receive a quarterly copy of Canadian Camera Magazine.
I will be available to answer any questions you may have. I hope that this new opportunity will create some buzz and excitement and open up some new avenues for our club!
